With the holidays approaching, naturally our minds are on prepping, planning, and of course, shopping. One of the things we feel strongly about is buying small, and buying local. Supporting local businesses and business owners helps stimulate the economy, and pumps money back into your own community rather than putting it into the pockets of billionaire corporations thousands of miles away. Buying local can reduce environmental impact too, and keep your community unique and thriving.
Supporting local businesses is not just about purchasing goods for sale. It's also about utilizing services, frequenting local dining and drinking establishments, and more.
With this in mind, One Unified will be bringing you portraits of local businesses all week long. We're showing a more personal side of your friendly neighborhood business people. The faces behind the goods and services offered to you.
So be sure to check in every day this week to see who the spotlight is on. Don't miss a minute. Some of our local businesses have specials in store just for One Unified readers. Stay tuned! Keep an eye on our Facebook page for more details.

Since we're talking about small businesses and business owners, we'd be remiss if we didn't mention that we are both business owners ourselves.

We are so happy to be shining a spotlight on local businesses this week. And many of the fantastic folks we've talked to have even offered holiday specials just for mentioning One Unified, so that's an even bigger bonus! Thanks for your comments.

We're so thrilled to see that the idea of buying local during the holidays is really spreading. This year we've actually had more great finds for people checking out local farms' holiday shops and artisans booths - they have wonderful things you can't find in a big box store (much better quality too!)

We have some AMAZING local businesses up here in Lehigh Valley. I love supporting them, and many of them also support my kids' charter school! It's such a great relationship.
